Even ignoring the fact that single typings are sometimes advantageous(though rarely), gaining additional types is one of the things that make evolutions exciting for me, and I'd imagine for others too. Idk if you want to make this into a fangame or not, but IF you plan to, I'd really suggest to at least make some of the base or NFE mons single types, to make it more exciting to train up new mons, as they'll gain a new type upon evolution.
